Recap of the NAUPA 2012 Holder Workshop and Forum

NAUPA held their 2012 Holder Workshop and Forum last Thursday and Friday as a part of the 2012 NAST (National Association of State Treasurers) Treasury Management Training Symposium in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I had the pleasure of attending to represent my company and to demonstrate the UPExchange system.
Many state unclaimed property administrators were in attendance. This gave the holders a rare opportunity to ask their reporting questions directly. The state administrators, unclaimed property service providers, and even auditors were among those who gave presentations to educate the holders. I attended these sessions and learned a lot. I find that no matter how many years of unclaimed property experience I have under my belt, there is always something new to learn.
The big evening event was a ride on the tramway to see Sandia Peak. The tram ride was the experience of a lifetime. It spans 3 1/2 miles and ascends about 4000 feet to the peak. We ate dinner at a restaurant on the peak. The food was only mediocre but the view of the city lights completely made up for it. If you are ever in Albuquerque, Sandi Peak is a definite must see.
I was very honored to meet so many people from the holder community. Thank you so much for following my blog and sharing how much you enjoy it.
If you are reading this and you also attended the workshop in Albuquerque, please add a comment and let me know what you found most enjoyable and informative about the event.
The next event I will be attending is the UPPO Holder Seminar in Seattle on July 16th and 17th. I’d love to see you there!
